The Controller's Office is mandated by the legislature to supervise the fiscal affairs of the county including accounts and acts relating to all officers or other persons who collect, receive, hold or disburse county public monies. 

What do we Do?

The Controller's Office payroll staff handles all phases of the County payroll. Other staff members handle the County pension system. The accounts payable staff process for payment all invoices and other county obligations after those obligations are reviewed by the Controller for legality and reasonableness. The accounting and auditing staff maintains the financial records of the County and prepares financial statements including the Annual Financial Report.

The staff also prepares the preliminary annual budget for the County Commissioners and audits County departments and agencies receiving County, State and Federal monies to assure compliance with governmental regulations and procedures. The Controller is an elected official with a term of four years.
