Property Tax/Rent Rebate
The Lebanon County Area Agency on Aging offers Property Tax/Rent Rebate appointments through a dedicated team of volunteers to Lebanon County seniors and to those with a disability. Please be sure to have the necessary documentation available (listed below) at the time of your appointment.
2023 Updates from Pennsylvania Department of Revenue
- The Property Tax/Rent Rebate application can now be filed from the comfort of your home. Please follow the link below for that and other important information.

WHAT TO BRING
If you are a HOMEOWNER please bring the following to your appointment: - 2023 Social Security, SSP or SSI statement
- 2023 Pension statement
- 2023 Annuity statement
- 2023 W-2 statement(s), if applicable
- Stamped PAID property tax and stamped PAID school tax receipts for 2023
- If you take your receipts (copies you keep when you pay your taxes) to the Tax office at the Municipal Building, 400 S 8th Street, Lebanon, they will stamp your receipts PAID or free; if, however, you need them to make copies of your paid receipts you will be charged $5.00.
- If filing for the first time, you will need a photo ID, copy of your 2022 Federal Tax Return
- If disabled and filing for first time, you will need to bring your disability award letter from Social Security.
Total HOUSEHOLD income not greater than $35,000 for Property Tax Rebate. (When calculating income, you only count half of your Social Security, SSI and SSP)
If you are a RENTER please bring the following to your appointment:
- 2023 Social Security, SSP or SSI statement
- 2023 Pension statement
- 2023 Annuity statement
- 2023 W-2 statement(s), if applicable
- Completed “Rent Certificate” form (PA-1000RC) – filled out by landlord
- If landlord lives in another state or cannot fill out the certificate, you will need to bring a copy of your lease and your monthly receipts for rent paid in 2023.
- If filing for the first time, you will need a photo ID, copy of your 2022 Federal Tax Return.
- If disabled and filing for first time, you will need to bring your disability award letter from Social Security.
Total HOUSEHOLD income not greater than $15,000 for Rent Tax Rebate. (When calculating income, you only count half of your Social Security, SSI and SSP)
If you OWN Your Home but RENT the Land
Please bring all of the above.
After Filing for Your Rebate
Applicants who requested a paper check to be mailed to them should expect to receive their payment in the mail in early July. As a reminder, applicants are required to submit their bank account information on their application forms in order to receive their rebates through direct deposit.
Distribution of rebates starts July 1, 2024.
